Dirty Coal Plays Peek-a-Boo in Kansas

Peek-a-Boo.jpg

Children are adorable when they play peek-a-boo. They cover their eyes with their hands and think they're invisible. Grown-ups play along. How could you not?

So what are we to make of Sunflower Electric Power Corporation, and its game of peek-a-boo that is fooling nobody? DeSmogBlog has the whole story of how Sunflower has set up a phony front group called The Alliance for Sound Energy Policy to advocate construction of the two Sunflower dirty coal plants denied by Kansas regulators.

Like children playing peek-a-boo, Sunflower made an ineffectual effort to hide behind the Alliance it invented. The Alliance's slick website is registered directly to Sunflower Electric Power Corporation.

The coal industry can be so adorable sometimes.
